However, a number of Sky Blues stars decided to spend some time together on Tuesday night before their flight to the Far East.

Bernardo Silva, Riyad Mahrez, Mateo Kovacic, Manuel Akanji, Nathan Ake, Stefan Moreno, and Kevin de Bruyne all braved the rain to grab a bite to eat.

The Premier League stars dressed up for a visit to Manchester’s brand-new Lucky Cat restaurant.

The topic of debate among the players could very well have been the team’s new captain.

City are now without a captain following the departure of Ilkay Gundogan from the Etihad and subsequent move to Barcelona.

Pep Guardiola’s squad is likely to vote for their new captain, as has become customary in previous years.

Guardiola, 2, led City to an unprecedented treble last season, winning the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup.

And the Spaniard’s extraordinary performance was recently acknowledged by Premier League icon Wayne Rooney.

The former Manchester United man said: “Pep Guardiola has been one of the best things that has happened to English football.

“For the league and national team. Some of the coaching has really helped them develop as players.

“[Success] goes in cycles. Unfortunately it is Man City’s time.”

Manchester City’s preseason tour will take them to Yokohama, Bayern Munich, and Atletico Madrid.

Their Premier League title defense will begin on August 11 when they travel to Turf Moor to face newly promoted Burnley.
