Fighting ex-Man City pair see red for pulling hair and ‘trying to rip d*** off’

Barcelona forward Ferran Torres and Atletico Madrid defender Stefan Savic were both sent off in injury time during their heated clash at the Wanda Metropolitano after getting into an on-field scrap

Ex-Manchester City pair Ferran Torres and Stefan Savic were involved in a wild altercation in the dying minutes of Barcelona’s 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid.

Both players saw red after scrapping with one another on the floor following an awkward coming together, with Torres trying to pull Savic’s hair and Savic, bizarrely, trying to yank Torres’ … *ahem* gentleman’s sausage.

When that failed, Savic wrapped his arm around the Barcelona forward’s neck in an attempt to apply a headlock, but Torres managed to escape and both men leaped back to their feet, red-faced, panting and desperate for justice to be served.

The two were immediately given their marching orders, and the highly entertaining replay (check it out below) showed that was probably the right call.

The victory on Sunday night saw Barcelona go three points clear of Real Madrid at the top of La Liga, and 14 points clear of Atletico who are languishing down in fifth.

Ousmane Dembele’s first half goal was the difference-maker in a game that saw Barcelona enjoy 60% of possession, but Atletico have most of the better chances.

Torres joined City from Valencia in 2020, but made just 43 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side before moving back to Spain, signing for Barcelona last January.

Savic meanwhile had an even briefer stint at the Etihad. Joining from Partizan Belgrade in 2010, the Serbian defender played just 21 times for the club before moving Fiorentina the following summer. In 2015 he moved to Atletico and has racked up over 250 appearances for the club.
