ARSENAL supporters have thanked “GOAT” Arsene Wenger for his advice to Bukayo Saka.
The legendary Gunners manager told the England star during their first meeting last year, it has been revealed.
Arsene Wenger has been praised for the advice he gave to Bukayo Saka.
Wenger and Saka first met in December 2022, following Arsenal’s 3-1 home win over West Ham.
Tim Lewis, Arsenal’s executive vice-chairman, has now revealed what was said during their meeting.
“It was great to take Arsene down to the dressing room,” he told The Telegraph.
“Bukayo (Saka) didn’t know him, but he addressed him as ‘boss’ right away.”
“‘Boss, how can I improve?’ he asked. ‘I think you could use your right foot a little more,’ Arsene said dryly.
Gunners fans reacted positively on social media after hearing the news.
“He’s actually improved his weak foot this season so much,” one fan tweeted.
“GOAT!” exclaimed another.
“Wise as usual!” wrote a third fan.
Meanwhile, another person commented, “What an interaction.” He’s certainly followed the advice.”
Saka, who broke into the first team following Wenger’s departure, never played under the legendary manager.
Prior to their meeting, he confessed, “One of my biggest regrets, well, not regrets, but something I haven’t been able to do, was to meet Arsene Wenger.”
Last season, the 21-year-old scored 15 goals and provided 11 assists for Arsenal, finishing as the club’s joint top scorer.
His performance also earned him a new contract, with Saka extending his contract until the summer of 2027 in May.
