What a way to treat this magnificent animal.
We are so glad that people are out there to help these animals to get there freedom.
Your kindness and kindness are not always returned; instead, they will take adv.antage of you.
The giant elephant can crush anything under its feet, but it is very gentle so that it is used as a mount or to perform dan.ger.ous circus tricks.
Elephants are a huge tourist attraction in Thailand, many people come to see them. Even tourists are unaware that these cap.ti.ve elephants are a.bu.sed daily.
Animal activists have been working for years to free these elephants from cap.tiv.ity. Some groups, thankfully, have had success, such as the one that freed Khum Min, a trekking elephant in Northern Thailand.
Khum Min was sep.ar.ated from his mother when he was eight years old, and he is unfortunately chosen to be a trekker and spend her entire life in a trekker camp.
The elephant was cha.in.ed and forced to stand in concrete for hours wherever they went. They grow old in this state, and it is truly he.artbre.aking that such powerful and intelligent beings are treated in this manner.
Fortunately, a group of people noticed Khum Min and decided to free and set her free. They walked gently to the release site in Northern Thailand, saying kind words to the old and tired elephant. They gently removed his shackles, and the elephant seemed to understand what was going on.
Finally, Khum Min is standing on a new lawn, and for the first time in many years, he feels free!
Rowen and the rescue team were so overjoyed that they burst into tears. The elephant began walking towards the trees, eventually arriving at a remote village to join the other elephants.
Thank you for freeing him, elephants should never be chained. So happy that she is free.
Pray this beautiful animal gets to enjoy years of freedom.
Hope it lives the rest of it,s life free of pa.in and just free to enjoy everyday.
